Terms of Sale
1. Purpose
These Terms of Sale govern the contractual relationship between Christian Meneux, sole trader operating under the trade name May Software (hereinafter "the Publisher"), and any user subscribing to a paid plan on the may-secret.fr service (hereinafter "the Service").
May·Secret is a cloud storage service with end-to-end encryption. All data is encrypted client-side with libsodium before being transmitted to the server.
2. Plans and pricing
The available plans are as follows (prices include tax):
| Plan | Storage | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 GB | Free | Free |
| Essential | 20 GB | €4.90/month | €49/year |
| Pro | 100 GB | €9.90/month | €99/year |
| Teams | 500 GB | €19.90/month | €199/year |
Prices may be changed. Any change will be notified by email with 30 days' notice.
3. Order and payment
Subscribing to a paid plan is done online via may-secret.fr. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. May Software does not store any banking information on its servers.
The subscription is activated immediately after payment confirmation by Stripe. A confirmation is sent by email.
Accepted payment methods: credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
4. Duration and renewal
Subscriptions are taken out for a period of one month or one year depending on the chosen cycle. They renew automatically at the end of the term, unless cancelled beforehand.
Cancellation can be done at any time from the "My subscription" area of the app. It takes effect at the end of the current period, without pro-rata refund.
5. Right of withdrawal
Under French consumer law (Article L.221-28 of the Consumer Code), the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for contracts for the supply of digital content not provided on a physical medium, the performance of which has begun after the consumer's prior express consent.
By subscribing to a May·Secret plan and immediately accessing the Service, the user expressly waives their right of withdrawal.
6. Liability and E2E encryption
May·Secret applies end-to-end encryption: files are encrypted in the user's browser before being transmitted. May Software technically has no access to stored files nor to the user's private key.
As a result, losing the password results in irrecoverable loss of access to encrypted files. May Software can under no circumstances recover a key or data.
May Software commits to maintaining 99.5% service availability per year (excluding planned maintenance). In the event of a prolonged outage attributable to the Publisher, compensation may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
7. Personal data
Personal data collected as part of the subscription (email, billing information via Stripe) is processed in accordance with our privacy policy.
8. User-uploaded content
The user is solely responsible for the files they upload to the Service. They warrant that they hold all necessary rights over these files and agree not to store unlawful content, including but not limited to: child sexual abuse material, incitement to hatred, violence or terrorism, counterfeiting, infringement of third-party rights, or any content contrary to French law.
Because of end-to-end encryption, May·Secret technically has no access to the content of uploaded files and therefore performs no prior moderation or control of such content.
Under Article 6-I-7 of French law n°2004-575 of 21 June 2004 for confidence in the digital economy (LCEN), anyone may report content they consider unlawful and hosted on the Service to contact@may-secret.fr, providing the information needed to identify the content concerned.
Upon notification of manifestly unlawful content or a court order, May·Secret reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the account concerned, even though it cannot access the encrypted content itself.
9. Disputes
In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. Failing that, the competent courts in the jurisdiction of May Software's registered office shall have sole jurisdiction. These Terms of Sale are governed by French law.
